Primary School Elijáš has been in operation at Michle’s BB Centrum since its building’s reconstruction in September, 2010. It is envisaged that 180 children from the 1st through 9th grade, will be taught there in the future. The school focuses on Christian education, English language instruction and the fostering of a healthy lifestyle. Rather than embracing an alternative concept of education, the school follows its own curriculum designed according to the educational framework established by the Ministry of Education and Sports: the Framework Educational Programmes for Pre-school Education and the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education. The child is understood in accordance with Christian principles: that the child is a gift from God and, having a unique personality, requires an individualized approach. Among the school’s educational goals is the development of key competencies that are necessary in this modern, global world. Children are encouraged to think independently, form their own opinion and to adhere to strict morale principles As there are only about 20 children in each class, they are provided with knowledge and skills in smaller groups, compared to classical schools.
